Saporito Finishing has done it again. We have added another high speed, automatic, rack, zinc plating line and here’s why. The auto zinc line we added 3 years ago is at capacity. By that I mean 24 hours 5 days a week!! This line continues to produce very high quality zinc/clear plating at a very competitive rate apparently pleasing our rack zinc customers. The addition of our new line opens the door for more high quality zinc capacity. With the new line we have added the capability to plate both clear and yellow trivalent chromate finishes offering variability for both of these in demand finishes.
Another benefit to 2 high speed lines is customer service. We have the capacity to turn work over faster than ever before. This allows our zinc customers to provide the lead time and quality their customers need and demand at a price that wins quotes. The trivalent clear or blue bright products have been on the market and performing well for over 10 years now and the market has forced some of the yellow zinc plating to shift to the clear or blue chromates. Because of the history of the hexavalent yellow chromate and the performance and the appearance of the product, several industries are sticking to their guns and staying with the yellow chromates. At Saporito Finishing we want to offer our customers the best performing plating processes available and we have looked deeply into the trivalent yellow chemistries to attain optimum coating effectiveness.
The following data is a copy of our yellow trivalent matrix we utilized to find you the best performing yellow trivalent chromate over our zinc plate. Our technical team put together a 144 panel matrix testing 6 vendors in various operating conditions to the failure level of red rust. The data shows the results of the panels through 24 to 528 hours of neutral salt spray testing. Saporito Finishing is using the highest performer on this matrix with excellent appearance and corrosion results. There is no hit or miss mentality at Saporito Finishing. Metal Finishing Issue “Summertime is Corrosion Time”
This is great news for air conditioning salesmen but metal finishers and their customers need to bring their “A” game when tackling corrosion resistance at this time of year. Care needs to be taken in the proper rust prevention and packaging necessary to get parts into our capable hands. Once we receive your parts we need to focus on the weather and how that weather affects corrosion before, during and after the finishing of your parts. Corrosion sensitive products need extra TLC at this time of year when applying Chemfilms, Dow processes, NH35, TCP and other various processes. We have the expertise to get the job done.
